Pls Send Firmware For Smartax Mt841.
Whats the driver version you need ?
This is what i found
Driver Version: Dec 2005
Huawei Technologies Co. Smart AX MT841 Driver Summary
Is this what you are looking for?
why you are applying an firmware update............is your modem is not functioning properly then only apply a firmware update ...........take it with extreme precaution ............if you botch up anything then your modem will straight go into the dustbin.............its similar like upgrading bios if anything goes wrong..............your mobo is kapoot![]()
Correct as player says. And as the wise people will also say - never fix anything that isn't broken.
I disagree with you guys
I think that devices should be running with the latest firmware and drives ever
There is a reason why they release a firmware upgrade
It would have some serious fixes or some feature upgrades
I had lot of issue with the default firmware which came with the MT 880 modem
But after i upgraded the firmware most of the problems got solved
Similar things happen with my computer bios also
I think every body can go through the release notes and see anything which could be a big problem solved then go for the upgrade
I 90/10 percent agree with gardencityboy and player
Because my PC configuration doesnt detect 80 GB USB hdd which is formatted as single partition. If the same hdd has multiple partition say 40-40 or 20-20-40, then it is detected. I found BIOS needs to be upgraded and I did it, now i have no issue in plugging 80 GB hdd which is a single partition.
In other case, When I upgraded my IE to IE7. Eventhough it has lot of security and usability features and many peoples agree with it, it degrade my browsing speed. So I removed IE7 from my machine.
so before thinking of upgrading
a) check whether we are upgrading proper firmware for that model
b) search for any suggestions/comments given by peoples using same model
c) what are the additional features we gain
d) whether it resolves any of our current issues
@skap and gardencityboy...........you guys are missing very crucial point which i have stated .............i said apply the firmware upgrade only if you are facing problems with your modem(or any other device) otherwise leave it as it is............i think you guys didn't read my post carefully...........read it again
it is believed(at least i believe) that if a device or any instrument is running flawlessly then leave it as it as rather than applying your bravery and intelligence in upgrading it
you can take a example of this .......microsoft realeased windows xp sp3 but tell me how many people are using it they even didnt know whether sp3 is launched or not ..........sp3 is update for win xp sp2 but most of the users are using sp2 beacuse they are finding sp3 is causing trouble(in case it should solve the trouble or it should have no trouble at all because it is an update)..............now what you say guys tell me!!!
My dear friend, i have read your post properly
You do not understand meaning of an upgrade
Do you think that firmware upgrades and driver upgrade are only for problem?
you may not know but firmware may also improve performance
You might not even know that there is a performance issue until you upgrade to the latest firmware
As far as SP3 is concern i have upgraded it and using it, because it has some cumulative upgraded which will make my system secure ( better than before)
If you don't want that security then don't no body is forcing you but it is also way better to be on the latest
by the way if you are ignorant about some thing like sp3 it does not mean that it is having problems
You may not know but many on this forum are running sp3 with out any issue including me

first of all there is a difference between compulsory firmware upgrades & optional firmware upgrades.you have to choose whether its worth taking the risk.i said risk because firmware upgrades are not always smooth.to give you an example if you update your firmware for siemens c2110 modem with latest firmware you will not be able to configure the modem in bridge mode by using normal means.MT880 modem is a very old model i think & it was incapable of supporting the faster speeds by bsnl without major errors unless a firmware update is done.so in this case firmware update is necessary.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
agreed that you need to make sure that the firmware which you are putting on you know the effect
I am from a product life cycle company and i know how much affect goes into releasing a firmware all the testing and developing etc
believe that if Siemens removed that feature in the latest firmware their would be a very strong reason behind it. i am not sure what it is nor would you but they would have found some thing which caused them to remove that feature and if they have removed it i would also remove it
@gardencityboy,the main problem regarding modem firmwares like siemens here is that these are OEM models & firmware is designed as per bsnl's custom needs.for example ut300rtu modem comes with a firmware which does not have virtual server option while older models or those provided by mtnl does.maybe to deter ordinary users from using virtual server like options bsnl is ordering modems with custom firmwares which does not let users access many advanced features.a very clear example of this is new nokia siemens c2110 modem which is configured for pppoe mode by default & you can not use port forwarding on this modem.even configuring it in bridge mode requires a not so simple procedure.so if you decide to update firmware & later found out that you can't use port forwarding now what will you do.that is why i am advising everyone who does not have a more than 1.5-2 year old modem provided by bsnl not to update firmware unless absolutely necessary.
by this what you are trying to prove ...that i dont know the meaning of an upgrade,so it means you are the only genius who knows the meaning of upgrade..........and point out where in my post i have written upgrades and driver upgrades are only for problems...please point out........
firmware "may" also improve and "may" also degrade the performance.
"You" find it better than before ................but i dont find better than before because when i upgraded to it at the startup it started showing cant recognize the battery???? now whats this.....so i switched back and prob. was solved
i know that no body is forcing me............"also way better to be on the latest"............its not always better to be on the latest
Ignorant........i dont think so i am ignorant about sp3.......i have used and find it having trouble thats why i said its not always better to be on the latest versions
So i guess we can conclude that
guys who do not want to upgrade without reason , don't
guys who want to be on the latest can do so , i am not going to uninstall sp3 just because player does not like it
what is their to fight about?
by the way "player "
I am the only genius who knows the meaning of upgrade, there are many others in this forum who also know about it, unfortunately....
now what the hell is this!!........where in the world i said that "please everybody uninstall sp3 because i dont like it".......tell me!!
am i fighting? ...............i am only typing & posting!!!................
and yes its so sad that unfortunately everybody knows what is meant by upgrade
@gardencityboy and player, this type of "snapping" is not good. Please stop all posts and counter replies.
just4kix no probs
by the way it is kind of fun once in a while
wow. that was some entertainment..Just kidding.. different people have different opinions about things!!!
hehe........................wish i could continue this conversation with gardencityboy..........................but he gave up!!!!!!!!!!!.................![]()
