    Default severe noise problem

my dp is way far off and i want a stable link. rock steady
some people suggest cat5 cable from dp to home

i dont't any other option than bsnl
and these line man are hardly concerned about broad band (atleast in my area)
i am planning to do rewiring from dp to my home on my own
    and am thinking of
1 what all different kind of cable can i concider(cat coaxial etc)
2 do these bsnl ppl use twisted pair upto dp ?(if they do so then it makes more sense to invest the sum ot my personal expense tobuy cat 5 or coaxial)

    kindly comment upon these

are you sure you can do that? i mean you normally need permission to run wires outside your house right?

    That is soo true.

You cannot touch the wires outside your premises, be it telephone, electricity or any other service providers stuff.

You cant even do that with permission as BSNL employees are not authorised to authorise anyone but bsnl employee to replace wires and they can only use the cables issued to them by bsnl which will be the same cable as there is now so would hardly make any difference.

What you can do is complain to bsnl and tell them there is noise in the line so they can send a line man to check the box if your wires are loose or something.
If this doesnt help try borrowing a splitter from one of your friends and see if that solves the problem and get a new one if it does.

    Thanks

i had the same issue with the broadband
had lot of noise problem in the cable

This is due to the location of my house, my house was on the main road and when ever a big truck would go by it would cut the cable

I had nearly 3 to 4 joints and the cable was like 9 years old

So i got the cable changed and every thing was solved

I did not change the cable at my cost
I complained to BSNL so that they send a lineman
Lineman are our friends, they can get things done if they are happy with you

I struck a deal with him that i will give his Rs 100 if he changes the complete line form the junction box to my house.

He got the cable from BSNL ( BSNL payed for the cable) and put a complete new line with out a single joint and that to he pulled the line from the next road so that it will not get cut and my problem was solved

You cannot use co axial cable with BSNL as the impedance of the co axial cable will not match the twisted pair which the port is designed for operation. it would work but you may face slower connections disconnects etc

I would suggest bribe the lineman and he will do the needful
