    Unhappy Free usage readings included in payable usage readings

    Hi friends
    I'm using Home 500 C plan and i often start downloading at around 1:50 AM itself(i.e 10 minutes before the free usage timings begins).I use portal id to view my bandwidth consumption and was quite surprised to see that some of the readings of the following type were not included in my free usage readings:
    1) 1:57 :08AM - 2:27 :08AM ---------580MB
    2) 1:52 :34AM - 2:22 :34AM ---------543MB
    3) 1:48 :44AM - 2:18 :44AM ---------563MB

    I'm quite tensed that these readings have been included in the payable reading column and not in the Free usage column and my current month's total data transfer stands at 2876MB(apart from free usage). I just want someone to please figure out how billing is done taking these readings into account. Anyone please tell me whether the entire 580+543+563 MB is going to be billed or only those MB's before 2 AM is going to be billed(i.e 1:57 :08 AM to 2:00 :00 AM is going to be billed and 2:00 :00AM to 2:27 :08AM will not be billed as it comes under the free usage section).

    Anyone please help me out!!!! I'm desperate for a reply

    The best thing to do is to reboot your modem and start afresh when you free time starts and keep a margin of atleast 15 mons on both sides to stay away from excessive bills.

    I havent really had much to do with bsnl so I would let some other senior members who use bsnl comment on your billing issue.

    In the mean time set your modem to start at 2:15 and then disconnect 15 mins before your free time ends.

    hi,
    it will be billed because you have to start a new session after free time.you said they take time before 2:00am as billed and afterwards free.let you start at 1:30 am and used upto3:00 and downloaded 500mb.it is a single session.how they figure out before 2:00 am.for them it is billed

    they used to bill such entries on a proportionate basis a few months ago when night time usage is not shown separately i think.580MB for 30 min so 1 min=(580/30)=19.33MB.so bill should come for time 1:57:08-2:00AM or approx.3 min so billable data will be 3*19.33=57.99MB.same will apply for all other such readings.however i am not sure as now day time & night time are shown separately & entire download amount for such entries is included in your day time so i think you may be charged for entire amount.wait fir bill first & if you have been billed fully for such downloads meet AO(accounts officer)of your area & ask him to revise the bill based on the method i gave above.if he is a friendly person i think he will agree to this.

    Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

    @thegame
    From what I know If you connect before 2AM entire download is carried over as billed ammount and NOT FREE. Same goes if you disconnect after 8 AM. Its best to start download at 2:10 AM and disconnect at 7:50 AM. Thats what the AO told me when I went to their office. I was experiencing similar problems.
