Thread: BSNL unlimited (UL750) maximum download speed

    Smile download speed

    hi this is ravi and

for UL750 plan the speed is 256kbps

here in 256kbps the letter ""b"" is a small letter

small ""b"" stands for bits not Bytes

    generally

    8bits = 1 Bytes

    so 256kbps = 32 bytes

so if ur download speed is around 30 or 32 kBps then it is the maximum download speed

some times dl speed may be 35-40kBps or less than 30 Kbps it is bcoz of good server response or badserver response respectively

    Wink i dont know why

i know, you wont believe what i am going to say.
i am a subscriber of bsnl ul 750. they tell that in this speed i'll get 256 kbps. ie 32kbps download speed. but i am getting a speed of 150-210 kbps when download using torrents!!!!!
i've already downloaded 81 GB in this month. 9 days left to complete this month. last month it was 42 GB. also i am getting a speed of 200kbps constantly in direct download.
i this this is a mistake created by bsnl staffs. thank you bsnl.............

Since when do you get this speed ? Is it a recent phenomena ?

Check your plan. If they have changed it without your consent, you may end up with huge bill.

Go to data.bsnl.in, log in using your portal ID. Under postpaid orders, enter the telephone no in prescribed format and hit " search orders ". No need to enter customer ID. Only phone no is enough. Post the screen shot after blackening personal details.

    Cool

Also i've to say one thing. The bsnl guys are very irresponsible to manage connections. Because when i thought to take broadband connection bsnl exchange guys says that it will take 2 weeks to get modem. And i bought it from outside. Iball baton. Then i told them that i've my own modem. They accepted. And after that there is no responce from them. Then i decided to do it myself. They didnt call me. I asked for my username and password. They gave it to me. But there is no one to help me after that. I setup my connection with the help of this site . After 2 days of try i got connection. But couldnt browse properly. The problem is connection is automaticaly disconnecting after 2 or 3 minutes. Then i must reconnect or restart modem. I asked help to them. They said that its my computer problem. They cant fix it. Connection status is ok in their system. Then i again configured my modem. Then i able to browse for half an hour continuously. After a couple of weeks my connection is worked well. The speed i'm getting may be speciallity of my modem. Am i lucky??

Post your SNR and attenuation values. Check the line. If there are lots of cuts and joints ask the line man to change it and give a new one.

    Ok. I use UL 750.

To check SNR and attenuation values,

    1. Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

    2. ID and password - The one which you have entered (if did)

    3. You will find the values in landing page. If not browse through the pages, you will find in the menu.

    OMG !!

As you wrote earlier, you must have complained o the BSNL officials multiple times and they must have changed something in their system to try to fix the issue and might have done some error there !!! And now you are enjoying such good speeds !!!

Similar thing happened with my friend who was on UL1350 plan as per speed and usage he was doing and was charged as per Rs.500 combo plan in the bills !!! One fine day he complained to BSNL Customer Care that he wasnt getting his bills on time and they discovered the great error that they made !!

So keep your mouth shut and avoid any formal complaints to BSNL !!
If line goes down, unofficially pay 50 bucks to babu outside BSNL office and he will come along and fix line issues . By any chance if BSNL officials discover this flaw then your speed will be downgraded to 512kbps !! So keep away from BSNL officials !

bsnl speedtest site behaves erratically once I got 22 kilo bits per second to confirm I checked it again showed the same speed might be because the server is busy. I am on HOME500C plan.

    Cool

    hi meetdilip.
now my connection is working well. only redial once in 2 or 3 hours. i've no complaint about that. because i've already got more than what i am paying.
but i've no problems in my speed. constantly getting 150-200kbps.
as you said above even my snr and Line Attenuation values are bad i am enjoying my speed!!
