First of all I would like to mention there ae no tweaks to increase your speed unless you hack BSNL servers......that's a different story

I am on UL750 plus plan I get download speed around 25-30KB/s ......but some times even worse

There's no time in hike in speeds and there is no such difference in hiked speed and ordinary speed ............sometimes I get 35-40 KB/s for a sec. or two thats all....................hehe.............not 200KB/s

for downloading normal files... the STARTing speed wud be 800 kBps. later gradually go down to 700, 500, 400 , 200, 120, 74, 55, 40, and stay at 25-30 kBps....

hehe.... wish i cud download at 700kBps from RS... hehe

750UL plan always give you around 32 kbps, as bandwidth alloted to you is only 256 kbps. Sometimes you may get 200 to 400 kbps, but this is just for a second or 2.

Seriously speed of UL plans sucks. Im on UL750. I expected speed for UL 900 would go up. Instead bsnl came up with some strange UL plans. They could have Given 512kbps at Rs. 900 & 1MBPS at Rs.1350. I.e three UL plans.

Your SNR margin may be low and Line attenuation values more.

Please read this: SNR Margin and Line Attenuation - What do they mean?.

Check the values in the modem status page and call the wireman to check your lines.

My plan is 750 UL Plus....
The torrent speed is 25~30 kbps....
    Download speed is 20~35 kbps...sometimes i get 30~40 kbps.....

My SNR values are below 10.....Does this affect the download speed ?

SNR Margin affects connection stability whereas line attenuation affects speed. I hope that I have made it clear in the article. Please let me know if this is not clear (from the article) and I will edit the post accordingly.

I once pressed the reset button on modem and the settings went to factory defaults. Then, I got 600 kb/ second constantly. I kept having to put my pass in each time i turned modem on and so changed back to old settings. It doesnt seem to be working for me any more.
