Default Over bill in home 500 scheme

Hi,

I am using Bsnl 500 combo plan in my home. For the past two months,my bill amount was only 700.But this time my internet bill amount was Rs 5000.I called to local bsnl office. They asked me to give a complaint form.My query is If i give the application can i see what are all the webpages i have seen or downloaded for the past 1 month?

But for sure we haven't use tht much in this month
Please reply as soon as possible.Because my due date is going to be over. some times we use You tube 2 see small videos. How many mb will take 2 see a 9 minutes video in youtube and Kids in my home used to see cartoons and play games in internet .Will it be the reason for the increase in Bill amount?
Please reply.Thanks in advance.

every thing counts in usage---utube,playing games over net, cartoons etc.maybe this is the reason.

normally a 18-20 min video on utube will be around 25-30MB or even higher so in a hour usage will be around 100MB.i am not sure about online gaming though.

Indian BB is still a very expensive affair. Most plans are capped by a usage limit; and the usage limit includes everything:

- comm packets that are exchanged to keep the connection alive
- downloads from a web page including text, graphics, files, flash animations, streaming audio/video, etc.
- uploads to a web site (all of the above)
- chatting of any kind including voice and video

If one is not careful, the usage gets exhausted very soon. So many ISP allow a free unlimited night time usage where nothing is counted in usage.

On the other hand there are 24x7 unlimited usage plans but the speeds are the poorest possible, i.e., 256 kbps. Since TRAI has classified BB as minimum speed of 256 kbps, these plans work at those minimum speeds.

As of now, BB is meant for casual surfing only and some e-mailing.

As far as your case is concerned, I feel that you have no case - you will have to pay the 5K or so bill.

Playing Counter strike 1.6 takes about 50 MB per hour(when playing on single server, if you change server usage goes higher). Unreal Tournament needs less usage though about 20~35 MB per hour.

I've seen standard youtube video of 7 mins takes about 18 MB (i.e. when i download the videos from youtube thats the size).

bsnl only charges for the modem taken from them in form of either monthly rent or a one time purchasing cost.monthly rent is Rs.60 for type I(without wifi,1 LAN port) & Rs.90 for type IV(wifi)modem.prices are Rs.1200 & 1800 respctively.
