Exclamation how to forward port for utorrent in nokia siemens c2100 modem

i am having lot of problem in using utorrent. i only get 30 kbps speed while downloading latest movies with over 1000 seeds. i am on home 500c+ plan but i am not able to download more than few MBs in last few days due to slow torrent speed. i have tried pirate master's guide but the modem used in illustration is old siemens modem so it does not match with my configuration menu as i have new nokia siemens c2100 modem. this modem has different menu configuration.

can u please help me to configure port forwarding in this modem.

as far as i know there is no way to configure port forwarding in nokia siemens c2110 modem.i am using one too & the only way to do this seems to be by using telnet but it is too much complex & after spending 20 min on telnet console i decided to switch to bridge mode as i prefer bridge mode.also in bridge mode there is no need for port forwarding as all ports are open.just use a good antivirus/firewall combination & no problem.

that means you are in ppoe mode.. it says internet gateway meaning you are connected to the internet through the modem.. to increase speeds you need to enable port forwarding .. i think its been discussed before already, try searching the forums

you have to set up your modem to bridge mode as whitestar_999 said......to do this ....follow these steps

    1) Type 192.168.1.1 in your web browser and press enter
    2) A login window will popup in the username type- admin and in password type password
    3) Now go to WAN settings of your modem and edit the first connection
    4) Then it will show a series of steps in that there will be a option of selecting which mode you want to use....from there select bridge............i hope you are able to understand......if not post your modem config. pics here and i will guide you step by step

    and finish the wizard

Default is there anyway using telnet to forward port

i am still getting max download speed of 30kbps in latest torrent in utorrent. i am not able to download more than few MBs. when use the speed test in utorrent to check the speed it says port is forwarded properly but i'm not able to get good speed in utorrent.Let me tell u that i get above 90 kbps(average) speed through rapidshare. i have already tweaked the tcp/ip using a patch and opened half max open to 50 both i utorrent and windows suggested at vinuthomas site. it was of no use but there is something that is restricting utorrent speed.
i know telnet can be used to forward ports is there any way port can be forwarded using some other access methods to nokia siemens c2100.

there should be a way forward port otherwise bsnl connection on home 500c plan is of no use.

bsnl new nokia siemens modems are very hard to configure using telnet.it's very difficult to configure this modem using telnet for even a person having good knowledge of computers.try enabling encryption for outgoing connection in uTorrent to see if it helps.if all fails then you have to use modem in bridge mode to get good speeds in uTorrent.

Type 192.168.1.1 in the browser, enter 'admin' as both username and password. The Basic Overview page will be displayed. Click on DSL Home and you'll see the 'Security' option has been added to the Menu above 'Services' and below 'Configuration'. Click on 'Security' and you'll get the 'port forwarding' option.

another easy way to access advanced options in NOKIA SIEMENS C2110 modem is by using this URL----
    http://192.168.1.1/advan_menu.html

take a look here & you will get the general idea----
http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...sl2_141-a.html (configuring port forwarding & accessing advanced options in SIEMENS SL2_141)

Now, someone, anyone, could you please fill this page up for me?

I don't think this will workout. I've tried but failed. Changed over to bridge mode and getting nice speed on utorrents

Enable UPnP setting at Utorrent preference (modem config on bridge mode ) then try. I feel a considerable improvement.

    Unhappy

I have enabled UPnP and even encryption on utorrent, but still the rate at which my utorrent downloads files is purely pathetic!

assuming u r in PPPoE mode.
Open modem configuration page by using http://192.168.1.1/
    (2) delete d default connection PPoE VPI/VCI 0/35
    (3) " Add"
    (4) On "Configure ATM PVC" page do d following
PVC Name=( Any charectors for identification i used BSNL)
    VPI-0
    VCI-35
    Ser category=UBR without PCR
    (5) NEXT
    (6) On "COnfigure connection" page, select protocol " Bridging"
leave other settings as it is.(LLC/SNAP and Bridged)
    (7) Next
    (8) NEXT

    (9) Apply

    Restart modem (power on off)

Make a dialer : control panel> network connections> new connection> set up connection manually> connect using broadband requires username and pwd>(name d connection)>username and passowrd ( supplied by BSNL)

    Then connect
