Thread: is anyone in kolkata facing disconnection problem

i hv got my internet started few days back but to my disappoinment i am having lot of problems ever since.i am from kolkata(alipore area) i get frequent disconnection due to link failure i hv checked connections it is a new connection with new line, my phone is connected after splitter. my setup seems to be fine but still i am facing disconnection problem can anyone tell me the reason for disconnection with cure as bsnl people are hopeless and r of little help

Did you get connected to the net at all in the first place?
What is your Modem Type?
Is the Link/DSL light steady?

i am using type 1 modem
nokia siemens c2100
my dsl light is steady but it blinks at times, this is when i get disconnected
my SNR DOWNSTREAM 7.0
SNR UPSTREAM 6.0

this is what i get after going to adsl properties from modem menu.
i have checked my lines are fine as it was a new telephone installation
my exchange is within 2 kms from my house.
Please help me

your SNR values are very low & that's why frequent disconnections.in the overview/status tab check that max line rates are 2048 & 512 kbps for downstream & upstream respectively.also get your line checked by BSNL.
