    Smile Save yourself from hacking.

I found a method of hacking BSNL, and I tried it, and it worked. It is so simple it'll blow your mind. I could have used other people's accounts, but I didn't since I already have my own, and also because I'm scared; I got the username and password, but I didnt test them on the modem, I just opened the site where you check broadband usage, and I tried it there, and it worked, I was able to login. But like I said, I didnt try to actually use them, so I don't know whether the connections are port-binded or not, and whether they will work or not.

I'm sorry I won't post the method here.

What I can tell you is how to secure yourself from this particular method that I used:

1] This will sound ridiculous to many people, but most people don't change their default modem password, which is admin / admin. You have to change the password, it is a must.

2] I think it is a better option if you don't let the modem save your username and password, and dial automatically; instead, save it on your computer, and manually login. At least, so far I don't know of any hack to get the username / password from the computer, though of course, it is as easy as anything for those who have the knowledge.

A third thing would be to keep changing your passwords regularly (both: the one to enter the modem, and the one that you use to connect to the server). I changed my password only once, after I got the connection from BSNL, and nothing has happened all this time, but that doesn't mean it won't, and after seeing that many people are facing problems, I've started changing my password, even though I have never faced any problem.

There are people who visit this forum, and they will read this and change the modem password, but what about those who don't know of this site, or any other? They are open to hack attempts. Don't you think BSNL should be more vigilant regarding this. I mean, even a person like me, who doesn't really know hacking, was able to do this.
