    LAN settings are ........

IP address: 192.168.1.xx where xx is defined as -any number b/w 2 to 254
    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    default gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Primary DNS:192.168.1.1
    secondary DNS: 20867.222.222

to connect 5 computers all the above settings are same except for IP address in which you just replace xx to different numder

Unless there are port-forwarding requirements, there is no need to set individual TCP/IP addresses for all machines. Set them as automatic:

    - Obtain an IP address automatically
    - Obtain DNS Server address automatically

In the above scenario, the DHCP service in the router will give automatic addresses to your networked devices.

Another tip. Use OpenDNS addresses in your router's DNS configuration.

Default IP address of router must be 192.168.1.1, i hope. so dont disturb it.

configure tcp/ip settings of switch as
    IP: 192.168.1.2
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    DNS: 192.168.1.1

and then connect your machines and configure network properties as
    IP address: 192.168.1.3 to 254
    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    default gateway: 192.168.1.2
    Primary DNS:192.168.1.1

Notedown the different gateway IP address in switch and machine configuration

you have to set your modem in pppoe mode(always on) first & after that you have to enable dhcp in your modem & then set all settings in computers LAN properties to automatic.this should work.make sure that all your computer after this setup are getting IP as 192.168.1.x.you can find this by clicking LAN icon & then clicking on support tab.
