Thread: Need Urgent Help with Configuring Nokia Siemens C2110 Modem.

Hello friends,

I have taken a new connection and i am facing some problems with configuring it. I have been given the Nokia Siemens Networks modem model-C2110. When i am trying to connect using the new connection feature of win xp, its giving me the error 678. But at the same time if i go to the modem comfiguration using 192.168.1.1 and then go to the Configuration options and then to the Internet connection Options, i can connect from there. But I am not able to use the win xp feature. Please Help.

see whether this website helps you for that error You may receive Error 678 or Error 769 when you try to connect to the Internet or when you try to browse the Internet after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2.

ensure that you have set vpi/vci 0/35 to bridged mode while connecting via dialer

i think i know the reason.new nokia siemens by default comes configured in pppoe mode & you can not configure this modem in bridge mode by normal method of changing the connection type from pppoe to bridge.in the modem configuration click connect once under the active connection(pppoe_0_35_) under configuration---internet connections.after it got connected you should not have to click connect again.

I am able to surf the net and work on, but just wanted to know if the the connection through the modem is ok or is it good to be connected through xp. as in With this i dont have to enter my username and password stuff.i just turn on my system and the modem and it is connected........

you can leave it like that if you are comforatable with that setup

in Dialer mode.
C2110 (Type-A) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION in "Always On " mode.
For BSNL vpi vci 0 and 35
