    Default Securing the Wireless

    I am having problem securing my wireless..whenevr i try and put in security my laptop is not surf the web...As i connect to the wireless am not able to ping it...and my WAN keeps disconnecting and connecting very frequently...
    But when i remove the security thing am again able to work normally...
    am attaching the relevant screen shots...
    Some1 plz help me out

    in the security tab try WEP instead of WPA & see if it works though WEP is somewhat weaker.

    but i do not have any option of WEP...the options are
    Open
    Shared
    WPA
    WPA-PSK
    thats it theres no option of WEP

    what is the wireless standard supported in your laptop wifi card?

    There are possiblities that your wifi card doesnt support these high level of encryption and authentication standards.

    Maybe...but how can i find what stds are supported by my wi-fi card

    find your wireless card name and type from 'Device Manager'. google'd then to findout the supported wireless standard..

    my wireless card is Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
    Am just checkin it and wud let u know the other details

    try WPA only not WPA-PSK.

    Shared means WEP.
