Default Help reqd to configure linksys WRT54G with Siemens C2110

My wireless internet internet worked just fine with a BSNL Huwai modem. That modem went bust and was replaced with a Siemens C2110 modem and ever since, I havent been able to go wireless. I've tried everything I could find on the net but somehow havent been able to put the pieces together corectly. Please Help
Both the router and modem have the same ip for admin ie 192.168.1.1. and Both have DHCP servers enabled. I've tried to disable DHCP in one of these, changed the IP of one of these, tried to put static IPs in the config, but havent got it right. I've also tried using the WRT54G in PPPoe and Automatic config- DHCP mode but simply cant go wireless

Set the IP addresses and configure as follows:

C2110: 192.168.1.1. Configure in bridge mode.
WRT54G: 192.168.2.1. Configure in PPPoE mode.

Keep DHCP on, in both modems.

Thanks Mate !! I've finally got it working. I probably wasted a week googling around for the fix - should've got to you sooner!
Just one thing : The 'data' LED does not light up on the Siemens modem anymore. Also I cant connect if I dont use the linksys router. Basically when I changed the connection to bridged mode in modem, It stopped connecting to the internet. I frantically tried to bring it back to it's original state but could not. So thinking all was lost, I connected the wireless router thinking some miracle would happen.. and it did !
Frankly I dont give a damn as long as I connect wirelessly, but I'll also get nightmares thinking what will happen in case the linksys stops working one day. I cant figure out what did the trick!

in bridge mode DATA LED is always off because in bridge mode modem does not make any connection by itself.due to same reason when you setup your router in pppoe mode & entered your BSNL username/password in router it makes the connection as soon as it is turned on.so basically modem acts like a bridge so that your router can connect to BSNL network through modem using BSNL username/password which you stored in router.if either modem or router is off you won't be able to connect because if modem is off router can't access bsnl network while if router is off modem can not make the connection by itself because it is in bridge mode & needs router to dial the connection.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Default wrtp54g linksys voip and nokia siemens c2110 bsnl modem

I have a linksys wrtp54g voip vonage router plus US number phone which i had set up with the tataindicom broadband and it was working just fine. Recently i had to switch to bsnl homeplan without static ip, and i am getting bsnl business 3300 with static ip in a week. i am currently trying to configure only wireless network with my bsnl nokia siemens c2110 modem (not worrying about the phone just now, though once i get static IP i will have to set it up as well)

I have tried to do the setup mentioned here in this thread, and various other configurations when it did not work. whenever I try to configure and then use the linksys router on the bsnl modem, my password gets blocked. At least once, the setup actually worked and i could connect to the internet from the linksys ethernet port (using a wire). But after a few minutes, the password again got blocked, before i could even hook up my laptops and see if wireless internet is working.

i need urgent and detailed help here.

    @indog

    critical: VPI/VCI for BSNL 0 and 35.
Please see this web site for settings for C 2110.

C2110 (Type-A) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION

Use "Always On " connection ( Not "bridged")
    Enable DHCP.

    In computer;
    Start/network/LAN properties
    TCP/IP select
    Properties
    Select Obtain IP address automatically
    DNS
    same or
    OpenDNS 208.67.220.220
    208.67.222.222
    Apply Save.

    Confirm Internet working Ok>

    2. Assuming WRT54G and WRTP54G will be similar.
Will update later if any useful is available. at linksy's web site.

Now transfer LanRj45 from modem to Linksy's WAn/Internet port
Connect another Rj45 to laptop ethernet port.

Assign IP 192.168.2.1 to Linksy's wifi router
    Use the wizard.
    Check OK.

    3. Now WIFI settings.

    Default thanks essbebe

i have used your configurations, did a lot of tinkering( had to reset router due to an IP clash issue) and finally I have got it set.

the only problem is, of course, bsnl itself. the worst connection, the worst customer care, and yet in my part of calcutta, the only broadband available.

Please change TCP/IP properties of your PC to automatic. Or change them as follows:

    IP: 192.168.2.101
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.2.1

    Do not use the dialler.

Is there any particular reason for that? I always recommend keeping DHCP=ON.

    I always recommend keeping DHCP=ON.
    Just Checked:
    Beetel110Bx DHCP ON (192.168.1.1 ) 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254
    WGR614 DHCP ON ( 192.168.2.1 )
Vonage ( 192.168.15.1) ( all 3 units settings can be accessed)
    laptop 1 192.168.2.2
    laptop 2 192.168.2.3
    "Always on" mode .
TCP/IP obtain IP address automatically in both systems.

when it comes to combining two routers , its always better to just have 1 DHCP server running so that later on you actually know for sure from where the ip is coming from. If the siemens is kept in ppppoe mode and with DHCP on , and you connect it to the LAN port of the wifi router with DHCP on , then PC would get ip from wifi and will not have connectivity to the gateway..
its just a more organized way of networking...
