    Default iam facing problem in opening these websites

    dear ones'
    I am facing problem in browsing some of the websites like 'mcafee.com, download.com, microsoft.com & cbse.com' . I am using BSNL broadband with router WA3002-g1. can anybody help me out.

    try changing your DNS servers to opendns.their ips are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 .. if your not sure how to change DNS let me know..

    try lowering the MTU value(default 1500)in modem/router.this setting is usually in LAN setting.try lowering it to 1452 to see if any value in between helps(try 1492,1460,1452 you can try any other value too).

    google'd those websites and try from the search results. some websites open only without www. let us know this.

    I am still facing the same problem. some times the bb connection also get disconnected.

    The problem seems to be dns resolution issue.
    a) Try running below command
    ping -a 72.14.207.99
    check whether it resolves to google.com. If possible post the screen shot of the output

    b) Try running below command
    c:>nslookup
    ...
    ...
    > Google (at this prompt, type google website)
    Also post the screenshot of this output too.

    These two will help us in identifying and confirming that dns resolution is the issue.

    when u use open dns...delete all other IPs say 192.168.1.1. keep only that IP

    oh i missed that, try nslookup of the website which is not browsing faster and not google.com

    run 'ipconfig /all' and paste its results

    also try this.. of a website which doesnt work.. like say microsoft.com doesnt work.. go to the command prompt and type ping microsoft.com .. you will get an ip .. x.x.x.x in your browser type in the same ip x.x.x.x and see if the page opens then
