    Default BSNL Broadband connection issue.

    Hi,
I have been is BSNL broadband for more almost 2 years now.
I shifted my house from C V Raman Nagar, Bangalore to K R Pura, bangalore.
    My BSNL was working 24*7.
I got it shifted to my new home after lot of fighting with BSNL junk guys.
I had to talk to GM to get this done.
I got the connection after 4 months.
Now my connection goes through only after 5PM and gets disconnected before early morning.
It does not connect in the day time at all.
Complained many time but no use.
From the log I see the following error
    "Getting IP address failed"
    I use PPOE bridge connection.
    My modem is Huwai MT800.
Does anybody aware of such issue ?
    Any solution if exists,
    Thanks,
    Tukaram

Unfortunately, no solution exists if your modem cannot login to BSNL.

I am not having login issue.
it does connect but it connects only after 5 PM.
I cannot connect in the day time...
I want to understand whether it is a router issue at BSNL exchange or its some network problem.
Any other users are having this issue ?
where my home router fails to get the public IP from the BSNL router.

    Thanks,
    Tukaram

if it works after 5 pm.. then there is nothing wrong with your setup.i guess you have no other choice but to fight a little more with them ..seriously speaking you would have to speak to them.. during the day i.e. before 5pm could you post a screenshot of the Status page of your router

assign a static IP i.e manually assign an IP address so this problem of getting IP address failed will be rectified

i think that this problem may be due to the fact that you have set your IP to static in modem settings.make sure that nowhere in your modem settings you have set IP to 59.x.x.x or 117.x.x.x

also check that only one computer is connected to modem.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

My IP settings are dynamic one.
I am not using static IP.
And only one PC is connected as I have only one port.
I feel its problem with BSNL router which is getting switched off whenever there is power failure and nobody is there at exchange office switch is it on after power is back.
    Not sure though.
Or may be due to fight I had with BSNL JTO.

When the BSNL server is unable to allocate an IP to your machine means that it has probably run out of dynamic connections.

seems very hard.in my city IP's allotted have 3 whole different ranges(with 2nd last set different like 117.xxx.201.xxx,117.xxxx.202.xxx & 117.xxx.203.xxx).each range can hold 253 IP's.this is the situation in a small city.large cities will have much more capacity.

right.. i dont think that running out of dynamic connections could occur now.. although this could be a future problem if the world doesnt move to ipv6
