    Try using a gud wifi router..like linksys or dlink, if not buy than borrow from ur friend as i hv faced this problem. I was able to connect to bsnl router thro HP pavilion but at the same time with macbook i was not. I got hold of Linksys WRT54G and all problem solved. It seems that it is some compatibility issue between bsnl router & macbook. U can try this & atleast narrow down the problem.

    mate, are you sure you entered your bsnl username and password correctly? you are getting an authentication failure message.. try entering without the @bsnl.in or @dataone.in

    I hope this thread has not gone dead by now.

    @superprash2003:
    Yes, I have given the username and password required in the configuration of the pppoe interface correctly i.e. without @bsnl.in or dataone.in.
    I tried to connect to internet by connecting my macbook using ethernet and it works. That is a single connection either from my windows desktop or my macbook works, multiple connections dont.
    I still get the authentication failure error in the summary of WAN for PPPoE(checking on router page: http://192.168.1.1).
    Where i am i going wrong?

    Default Wireless router with MacBook

    Hi,

    Configure your ADSL router to 192.168.1.1
    Configure your wireless router to 192.168.0.1
    Go to Macbook system preference --click network--click airport---make sure you have selected DHCP

    It should work..
