Thread: Strange Problem- Please help

I have taken BSNL broadband in last week. From the first day itself I am facing a problem, when I am trying to open any webpage it's showing that IE couldn't find the requested webpage. So I have called the BSNL guys they came and check all the devices and everything is working fine. They were able to surf from their laptop. So their advice was " Format the PC". I did the same on yesterday thrice but problem wasn't sorted out.

What should I do now?? Please help.

which mode are you using i.e. bridge mode or pppoe mode what DNS servers are you using

mostly this problem occurs when DNS servers are left empty

enter these DNS servers
Primary DNS : 208.67.220.220
Sec. DNS : 208.67.222.222

I am using PPPoE mode. Should I need to enter the DNS Server here also????

you could enter the DNS server info in the modem itself.. go to 192.168.1.1 and look for a DNS tab and enter the opendns servers there.. or you can do so under control panel->network connection.. tcp/ip properties
