For Home UL- Fixed monthly Charges for telephone, Free Calls & MCU charges per pulse shall be as per existing plan of the customer.
For Home UL PLus - Telephone fixed monthly charges per month- Nil, Free Calls- Nil, MCU charges per Pulse @ Rs. 1/- shall be applicable. The calls shall be charged as per pulse rate of BSNl Bfone General Plan. Security Deposit and Installation charges as applicable for Local/STD/ISD shall be taken from new customers.
Basically for the plus plan there is no fixed phone rental.. but no free calls as well.. whereas in the home ul plan there is a fixed phone rental with free calls.. The basic 750rs is the same..

    You have misunderstood.

    1. All BSNL BB plans (limited or unlimited) need a BSNL fixed landline.
    2. With the UL750 plan, you get unlimited usage broadband at 256 kbps (32 KB/s). On this plan you will also be charged Rs. 180/- for fixed line rental and you will get 50 free (voice) calls. Other voice calls are charged as per BSNL's One-India plan.
    3. With the UL750+ plan, you get unlimited usage broadband at 256 kbps (32 KB/s). On this plan you will not be charged Rs. 180/- for fixed line rental and you will not get any free (voice) calls. All voice calls are charged as per BSNL's One-India plan.

You can use the landline for voice calls. Whether you wish to continue your mobile to make calls is up to you but landline calls are cheaper than most (but not all) mobile plans

What exactly do MCU charges mean? And in some places it mentions an extra charge (12%) that is added to the 750, whats that about?

MCU means Metered Call Unit. For BSNL’s DataOne Broadband Unlimited Plan users, the voice calls will be charged Rs 1.00/- per unit.

It is not just 12%, rather it is 12.36%. This is service tax and education cess, etc.

Service Tax is 12% on all the service charges
Education cess is 3% on the Service Tax.

    Here is an example:

    a) Broadband Fixed Charges = Rs. 750/-
    b) Voice Charges = Rs. 150
    ------------------------------------------------
    Sub-total = Rs. 900/-
    Service tax @ 12% = Rs. 108/-
Edication cess @ 3% on Service tax = Rs. 3.24
    ------------------------------------------------
    Total = Rs. 1011.24
    ------------------------------------------------

    Hope this clarifies.
