Also, How can we configure static IP on the ADSL Router from its configuration - is it possible?

BSNL guy is asking me to configure static IP on my computer...but I use a Wireless Router in front of my computer..and changing the Connection from PPPoE to Static IP will mean I do not use my Authentication Credential, will that cause my conenction to fail?

configure static ip?? didnt get you mate??you want a static ip like 117.x.x.x.x ??so that everytime you connect and disconnect the 117.x.x.x ip will remain same? or do you want an internal static ip like 192.168.1.x ?

BSNL guy didnt know waht he was talking abt...he asked me to configure Public IP...but BSNL does not allow that....

I guess teh BSNL guy just confusedme. He didnt understnad taht I had a Router..and asked to give it IP - 192.168.x.x (Private IP)...It did not make sense to me...But I am getting speed of ~200-250Kbps....upload...which is good enough for my application.

For 750 Rs/mo they promise a speed of 256K but it is so variable ...most of the time it is around 200Kbps...I guess they really want to just cap you at 256K..

I needed an unlimited upload/download plan..and seems like this the best...There is another but double the monthly cost 1300 Rs. So, I will stick with this for now..
