Default Desktop & laptop connecting to internet simulataneously

Hi ,

Thanks to the forum for providing various ways of configuring BSNL broadband on a wireless router . I am now able to connect to Desktop ( Hard wired ) and to latop wireless. However i have 2 simple questions . Appreciate if you can shed some light

1 ) Is it possible to connect to internet both on laptop and desktop simultaneously . As of now , whenever i am connected via desktop , if i try connecting to laptop there is a error message ' Phone line busy' . I have to disconnect the exisiting (desktop) connection to use laptop wirelessley.
Is there a way around. Or it is not possible to have simulataneous connection

2 ) Is there a way i can use this connection on other wireless devices like mobile . Since I wont be able to set up a PPPOE connection on mobiles and other handheld device what set up would be needed. Automatic login ? But how?

Thanks in advance

for this you need to setup PPoE mode.. that would solve all your problems..please mention the model no of the bsnl router you have

ok then just configure your router to PPPoE mode and your problem will be solved .. you will be able to connect upto 254 PC's simultaneously including laptops or any other wi-fi device

follow these steps

1.) connect the BSNL modem to your PC and type 192.168.1.1 in your web browser and press enter
2.) then go to WAN and edit the first connection which is present there and set it to bridge mode
3.) then go to LAN and enable DHCP server
4.) also change the IP address of the modem in LAN tab
5.) reboot the modem

then disconnect the BSNL modem from your PC and connect your router to your PC, then follow these steps

1.) enter router's config page
2.) Go to WAN settings and edit the first connection and and set it to pppoe mode, enter the username & password there only and service name as pppoe_0_35
3.) Go to LAN tab and enable DHCP server
4.) save all the settings and reboot the router

Now connect your router to the BSNL modem through a cross-over cable not through ordinary LAN cable and then from the router you connect your PC whether through wi-fi or through LAN
and you are done ........

if you make it right as soon as your pc is connected to the router you will be connected to the internet

if netgear is in PPoE mode then you need to attach the rj45 cable to the WAN port of the wifi router not the LAN port

hey your wifi router is an adsl modem+wifi .. so you can do away with the bsnl modem.. remove the telephone cable from the bsnl modem and connect it to the netgear router and remove the cable between bsnl and netgear.. the bsnl modem is not required..
