Rep Power: 0 | I dont Login & log out each time.. I ON my router and im connected to the net.. So Thats pppoe u were talkin about right?? |

| Platinum Member | yes!that's pppoe.port forwarding won't affect download speed of other softwares if setup correctly.TCP & UDP are communication protocols & only thing you need to know is that any application accessing internet requires that the TCP/UDP communication is allowed at such ports which are then called open ports which that application use(e.g.ftp softwares use port 21). |

| Platinum Member | this model provided by bsnl don't have a virtual server option.in advanced setup go to NAT-DMZ & enter your PC's IP there(192.168.1.x). Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: Port Forwarding In UT300R2U ADSL MODEM |

Rep Power: 0 | But, i heard that using DMZ can be dangerous.. Is there no way of Port Forwarding it.. |

| Platinum Member | no port forwarding option is available in ut300r2u provided by bsnl.you have to use DMZ & yes its less secure but then if you use a good antivirus & firewall your security is as good as in pppoe mode.anyway it doesn't matter if you use pppoe or bridge/DMZ if you don't have good security softwares installed your computer will get infected sooner or later. |
