i am a bsnl 500 plan broadband user.my problem is frequent disconnection.it mostly occurs when high bandwidth is used for eg. while watching youtube videos..or loading large size web pages.etc..i hav complained this to the bsnl office but they r still verifying..dunno wat 2 do..ny1 who had the similar xperience or can giv a reason plz b kind enough 2 reply...

no problem while using orkut,,or checking mails n all..!!!!

also wen i chckd my dwnload speed in dataone site..it shows a max of 838Kbps..is it the avg value..or is it low...?

in your modem status/overview tab etc. look for values SNR & Line Attn.SNR values must be above 10 & usually there values are ~15(upstream/remote) & ~29(downstream/local).more values of SNR the better.similarly Line Attn values are usually ~15(upstream/remote) & ~28(downstream/local).lesser Line Attn values the better.

i cnt get the page when ip adrress 192.168.1.1 is typed...an error message is shown in opera..n blnk page is shown in mozilla..!!!!
can u plzz post in detail how to check the modem status....

ohhh sorryy...i found the problem..!
the problem was with the connetion wire (RJ45)....!!
the wire got damaged due to heat...was lucky enough to spot that..!!
