port forward only works for pppoe mode(in which you get connected by just turning on modem without using windows/computer).

yes iam using ppoe mode. morover i tried to configure in Bridge mode also but failed.

iam getting the following error while trying portforwarding

    Error/Warning Page

This Product has encountered an error/warning.The same can be seen below. The time displayed are in seconds since the last reboot.
    When Severity Error/Warning Description
1482 error-failure webserver: Error adding NAT reserved mapping pool Utor1@ipwan_66112611246161126112

Surprisingly while checking the status of port on utorrent it is showing that "your port is open and accessing connection". Still iam getting a download speed of 1-30kBps. Iam using utorrent 1.7.7 and BSNL home 500C package.

port forwarding does not guarantee speeds.try some latest hollywood movie torrent from AXXO section in mininova site which has thousands of seeders/peers & then see how much speed you get.you should easily get 100KBps on such single torrent.if uTorrent is ahowing a green icon in the bottom bar then your ports are already forwarded correctly.
