Rep Power: 0 | I am using an unlimited BB connection from BSNL. My home network consists of 4 machines connected with a wired network. I need to be able to continue using this network as it is. It runs some software that needs access to various pc's from time to time. All the pc's have manually configured IP addresses (192.168.100.***). Now, I would like to do this - The modem supplied by BSNL is shown up as Huwei MT841. This has 4 ethernet ports at the back. Currently, I have connected all my computers to these ports after removing my network hub. My network works normally. But I am able to connect to the internet only from one pc at a time by manually connecting it. I want to be able to connect all pc's to the internet and continue on the network - simultaneously. I have succeeded in experimenting with setting up the username and password in the modem itself - using some of the guides on this site. But had to revert as this was not allowing the wired network to function. There are a number of guides to setting this up for a wireless network - I need to do the same on a wired network. Anybody who can help will be highly appreciated. Thanks. |

| Platinum Member | You have to just configure your BSNL modem to pppoe modem, then all the machines will run independent of each other |

| Bronze Member | Try to change the TCP/IP properties to " Obtain IP address automatically" instead of using static IP . It may solve your problem |

Rep Power: 0 | Before starting that, one little question.... will it work if I assign 192.168.1.*** instead of 192.168.100.*** ? since the modem is at 192.168.1.1? |
