Thread: Frequent Freezes

hello guys i recently took bsnl 500c plan... the problem is the connection works perfect for sometime after about 20 minutes it freezes.. i mean the data transfer indicating led stops blinking and all data transfer stops.... hmmm because of this i am not able to schedule downloads using utorrent anymore... i have to restart the modem again to get the internet and the same thijg after 20 - 25 minutes.....what to do???

u r in which mode Bridge of PPPoE mode? If in PPPoE mode try to change to bridge mode..

are you connected via usb or LAN?

i am using PPPoE mode.. how to change to bridged mode??? i currently use LAN...

I had similar problem with PPPOE and when i switched to bridged mode it got rectified for some time but again had restarted with similar issue. I too would like to know a permanent solution for this issue.

hey i changed the mode from PPPoE to Bridged and i think the problem is solved though i will have to wait till tonight... but there is some other problem now...i used windows dialer to dial in and it shows the 2 connected computers... but along with it another same icon is there in taskbar telling there is limited or no connectivity by the lan card... i think its not able to acquire the ip address... internet is working fine eventhough...

u are using USB of Ethernet port to connect computer??

Same problem here also ... modem is zte asdl .... in pppoe mode .... can't even switch to bridge mode......

why cant you switch to bridged mode? go to your modem settings.. under wan edit vpi/vci 0/35 to bridged .. and create a dialer..

limited connectivity normally comes if you arent getting an ip or there is an ipconflict.. go to the command prompt and type ipconfig and post output here..screenshot would do

I have this chinese crap .... zte zxdsl 831a11 ... if i try bridge mode ... it gives a fatal error warning... cannot even port forward as there is no virtual server or dmz or nat option ....

are you sure?? check this out Port Forwarding for the ZTE ZXDSL 831 .. and regarding fatal error.. you could try resetting modem..

my model is zte zxdsl 831a11 ... the one at portforward is an old one.....

have the same modem as carbon same router and it happens when the u torrent is on.all the lights are on it.what to do ?when i run ipconfig the black window comes go off in a sec.any other ideas?
