Default Should I go with the 500 or 750UL+

so, my family has been using the 250 home plan for a while now. However recently I have been using the internet more frequently, particularly to maintain some company websites, browse some data-heavy sites and to have skype video chats.
I have been able to do all of this at whatever the speed was... I never really tested it... presumably it's up to 2MBps.

anyway, all of that usage of course means that I very easily passed the 1GB allowance on the plan, so now I am upgrading to the 750 unlimited plus plan.
My primary question is, will the reduction in max speed that comes with this plan (256kpbs) still allow for good video calls? I can deal with the slower browsing, but I would like to have smooth video conferences the way they are now.

    Thanks,

256kbps is not suitable for streaming videos. This plan is suitable for browsing only. For downloading, video chats etc go 4 good bandwidth

I think that their should not be any issue even with the 256 kbps speed, but there is a plan in BSNL were it is call Home 500 + which will give you limit of up to 2.5 GB at 2 Mbps speed which should be more that enough for you to do all the stuff you do, other than movies download etc

it may also depends on the type of webcam you have
if the webcam is a high quality image camera them it will need more bandwidth

    a BIG NO

on an UL750 plan you cant do voice chat smoothly and i can assure you that as i am also using this plan it is perfect for only voice chat, even if you use a junk webcam video will still lag behind and will mar the fun

    Thanks for the feedback folks.
Is it also perhaps worth mentioning that I am in Chandigarh, barely half a kilometer from the BSNL center? Does that fact that Chandigarh is a larger city play into the speed equation any way?

Also, all my video chatting is one way, with me just watching, but with voice going both ways. I'm not sure what camera it is on the other end exactly, it is whatever comes built into a compaq by default.

for video streaming min 512kbps is recommended.if you can afford go for unlimited 512kbps at Rs.1350+taxes extra.

From my experience, i was on UL plan (at that time it was 900) but because of slow speed i switched to 500 plan and i really like this plan as the speed is just perfect and anything i want to download, i download during night time free period. Hence i would suggest you 500 plan.
