    Unhappy Internet very slow.

im on the 750 Unliminted plan and today my download speed suddenly dropped.

its supposed to be 256kbps which downloads at 30-40 kb/s

    now it gets 2kb/s

any idea why this might be? is bsnl just having problems?

this is no fun. i have to wait for ages to load up a webpage and actually downloading something is out of the question.

i have been downloading a lot lately, but its not like bsnl would have cut my speed down, as im on an unlimited plan.

    anyone know why this is?

    thankyou very much

the internet speed eventually got better.
i really do need to upgrade though.

the thing is where i am theres no cable so i can only get internet through the phone line.
what plans can i get that come through the phone line?

there is talk of an airtel cable being put down in my area... no idea if thats really going to happen.

i think theres a 512mbps speed plan that is basically the same as my current one..
if i wanted to upgrade, how exactly would i do that?
    go and see them directly?

    thanks

i checked and i think im on the Home UL 750 plan. which is 750rs a month and 256mbps.
i want to upgrade to the UL 1350 plan which is 512mbps.
so how would i go about upgrading?
also what the difference with the normal and PLUS plans?

you have to submit a written application for plan change at local exchange.in plus plans you don't have to pay the monthly telephone rental of Rs.180 extra.

First i would like to clear out something you have stated 256mbps its not mbps its Kbps(Kilo bits per second)

and UL1350 Plus has speed upto 512Kbps NOT mbps

you have to give a written application to your local exchange stating clearly that you want to change your plan to UL1350 Plus

the difference b/w normal and Plus plans is that in Plus plans there is no fixed phone rental charges of rs180 p/m just as whitestar said rest is same

UL750: 256 kbps, unlimited BB usage, you pay for phone line rental of Rs. 180/mth and you get 50 free voice calls per month.

UL750+: 256 kbps, unlimited BB usage, you do not pay for phone line rental (saving of Rs. 180/mth) and no free voice calls per month (additional Rs. 50/mth).

    Hope this clears.
