how you have connected also decides your connection speed.

Do you use splitter to split voice and data traffic?

What type of browser do you use?

Is your modem configured for PPPOE or bridge? PPPOE provides difference in speed compared to bridge mode traffic

Default Opera is the fastest and best browser

Well for a given processor, memory (RAM) and ISP Opera is best in terms of speed (page rendering).

But We Indians are firefox fan not because it is open source but rest of the world uses it.

I suggest use Opera 9 and see how fast it is.
You can not appreciate its fastness on a 1GB RAM computer.
Try it on a dinosaur like mine with just 128 RAM.

Opera had Tab when firefox was not even born.
Opera has option to show images or cache or no image option. That saves a lot.
The two problems I faced were
1. It is not open source.-- You have everything built in that you are searching in add on department of firefox.
2.Torrent files are managed by its own engine yes it is toorent client in itself.
But you can easily change by typing opera:config and unchecking it.

Just give it a try .
You will see the internet in a different light.

wel yes he is correct opera is better but it doesnt really go well with all websites.ive the four most renowned broswers installed and im a maniac surfer... and sumtimes opera gives me a problem. i have opera, firefox, apple safari, and IE.

well it simply depends on the individuals choice once they have tested the browsers.

i use firefox only because of its addons.they are very useful like this rapidshare link checker using greasemonkey addon which shows a green tick in front of all working rapidshare links as soon as i open a web page & red for dead links.no need to copy paste links into rapidshare link checker.no script is also very useful addon in terms of security.

Try using one of the prefetch plugins.. Googles is the best one Ive seen and it should improve your overall browsing experience as Google learns with time from your browsing behaviour and prefetches the pages from links you are most likely to click..

If you try it dont just take it off after an hour or so.. use it for atleast a week before deciding if it helps or not.
