OKIES MY PROB IS CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A STEP BY STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO SETUP MY CONECTION VIA ETHERNET CABLE.

what configuration?

just connect modem to computer using ethernet port using provided RJ45 crossover cable(not usual LAN cable).after that in TCP/IP properties of your LAN put IP as 192.168.1.4 & default gateway 192.168.1.1.set DNS to automatic.after that login to modem by typing 192.168.1.1 in your browser & enter username/passord(admin/admin by default usually).configure the modem.go to this link for BSNL instructions for various modems--

Thanks Whitestar that link really helped me. i managed to connect it correctly like never before and things have become so simple... and now i know that the wire supplied by bsnl is messed up... it aint detecting the modem or my ethernet port... the lights are not even glowing on either side after following the main menu link. so anyways it picked up my wireless connection and made that default since it coudnt connect to lan port.

but im happy now since i know the reason why the green lights on either modem or e-net port are not lightin up.
