    Default Illegal account Usage

    Hi All,

Few days back I installed dataone broadband connection at my house. After initial installation of the Huawei DSL modem I was told that someone will contact me and provide me assistance in configuring PPPoE setup. But to my surprise none turned up, inspite of several reminders to the BSNL office in-person and on phone.
After great difficulty the helpdesk engineer provided username and password details for access. I configured my Win2K pc for RASPPPoE and started using the connection yesterday night.

To my surprise I found that account has been charged for 140MB of usage. I had actually taken a Rs.250 Home plan for 400MB and was shocked to see the above usage at my first login.

I came to know that BSNL has appointed third party guys to help users in connecting to the Dataone who has done this mischeif.

Complaint to dataone helpdesk is of no help till now and they are washing away their hands.

I regret now to have taken this connection and very skeptical in recommending to my friends

Smile same sort of problem here

i am also using the same connection in delhi, i got my connection on 12th of the month, when i check the usage i was allocated 258 mb which has to be 400mb.
on inquiring i get to know that on the very first month of connection the amount of mb is adjusted according to the date ADSL connection has got connected.

so u must have got ur connection at the last week of the month

Weel if you take my personel opinion, i would say these kind of things are common with all government department. If you go to them and lodge a complaint against there own department they wouldnt be interested in resolving and wwill make you run haywire. Please go back to that same Third Party enginner who helped you in configuring it and only he can provid you a solution for this.

You are right Rajat. I think he should get used to it and instead of grumbling he should change it to reliance. The one advantage of having a private ISP is when you face this kind of problem you can call there customer service desk and then would change it for you as they woudnt wana loose there customer.

Your right. Private Company will do anything to keep there customers happy and BSNL doesn't seem to care as they know they are the largest firm compared to others in rural India.
