U need not do nething at ur end. BSNL will do all the settings at their end. U chk which IP is assigned to u everytime. It will be ur static IP only.

UL 3300??you mean home 3300 right.UL means unlimited & only unlimited plans from BSNL are UL750 & UL1350 with speeds 256kbps & 512kbps resepctively.static IP's are only given to business plan users.also there are 2 IP's---internal(something like 192.168.x.x which may be static & has nothing to do with bsnl) & external(your actual IP something like 117.x.x.x or 59.x.x.x which is allotted by BSNL).

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

I am not familiar with your modem but you can set up the modem/router in PPPoE mode with static IP. There will be an option to set your static IP in the modem/router's configuration page.

I guess they would have given you a static IP which is for gateway purpose.

Default I am also trying to configure static IP

I have a business 4000 plan and I am also trying to configure the static ip address on my modem. I have a bsnl MT880 modem.
It works fine on a PPPoE connection and has been doing so for some time, i just upgraded the connection to the business 4000 as I need the static IP.
Does anyone know what are the connection settingso in the WAN settings page for this to work?
The bsnl persons tell me to put in "port forwarding" mode!! I have no idea about this mode.. nor can i see this on the modem.
Has anyone here configures bsnl modems for static ip modes?

    Thanks
    chandrasekhar

ya I have UL3300 plan. And BSNL have given me a External static IP.

I spoke with BSNL people and they said you can get your static Ip on Dial up Service.

I want the same in bridged mode (always on). I tried the same but was not sucessful.

Can anybody help me configuring the modem in bridged mode in such a way where I can insert the IP directly into my system's Ip properties.

    Smile static IP fixed

I think I got the answer from one of my friends.
It seems that once you get a static ip alloted to your account by bsnl, you do not have to change anything at all on your modem.
You still stay with the original pppoe connection and the server will always assign the same ip address to your modem when it dials out to the server.
I have checked this out on my modem now by restarting it a few times and it always picks up the same ip address.
so it is now fixed .... maybe bsnl guys are much smarter than we think
