please mention your ISP.. do you use a dialer to connect?? if so you mostly dont need to port forward..please post a screenshot of the modem settings page.. looks for "virtual server" or "nat-dmz"

then you either need to get a router which supports Virtual server or connect it to a server which forwards required ports to required clients.. getting a router with virtual server option would be cheaper..

192.168.1.1 is the modem/router ip address. You have to enter 192.168.1.2 in the nat-dmz page.. which i think you did.. now disable windows firewall for 1 or 2 min..and then use this port scanner to scan to see if the port you wanted is open. . Online Port Scanner | Port Scan | Port Scanning | Portscan Tool .. if it shows open then you have to configure your firewall properly..

wow.. this is a pretty good router.. it has nat dmz as well as virtual server.. in that case use virtual server.. dont use nat.. remove the ip addresss in the nat-dmz column.. this tutorial should help you Port Forwarding for the ITI DNA-A211-1

go to http://192.168.1.1 . enter username and password as admin.. you should see either a virtual server option or nat-dmz.. if virtual server is seen then that is preferred else you have to use nat-dmz
    1) if you see virtual server do this Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: Portforwarding through Virtual Server in huawei SmartAX,netgear and dlink routers
    2) if you see nat-dmz Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: Port Forwarding In UT300R2U ADSL MODEM

A small difference of opinion here. Everyone knows that opening up DMZ is a last option(atleast in ut300r2u new modem) and it opens all the port of the system rather than how the virtual server works. So user has configured windows firewall to add exception for that port alone and block all other ports to be safe. But when tested it in my machine i.e try port forwarding for other ports too with the exception added for the specific port, it indeed allowed all the ports to be connected rather than blocking all the ports except the mentioned port. I'm saying this here because when i opened up DMZ for the first time multiple spyware and trojan attacks was blcoked by my eset anti spyware and antivirus. I also tried setting up the port exception in Windows firewall as like said here but as i said it didnt work as mentioned and it indeed opened all ports for me making me to go back to bridge mode again. I am not sure whether it(port exception) happens only for me or others too. Check for other ports too(just replace random port number in the url used to test the portforwarding) to be safe.

ah! now I got it... he's talking about my machine's ip which is 192.168.1.x most of the cases...
& not the dynamic ip over the internet..which starts with 117....
    gotcha

Do you have any Firewall enabled that could block the port ?
Did you added that port in Windows firewall exceptions ?

You need it to be ticked. And and the port in the Windows Firewall exceptions. Like this.
