Hi, I had DataOne installed in March 2005. The speed was simply amazing and even during daytime i got unbelievable download speeds. But alas, 4 months later, this honeymoon with high speed Internet ended. There was some problem with the line and after complaining enough number of times - nothing really happened. BSNL personnel are technically not qualified to diagnose and correct simple problems.
Even after disconnecting, there is no one from the department to come and collect the modem. The attitude is pathetic to say the least. Even my neighbour faced the same problem. He almost harassed the divisional engineer to get his problem solved. I cant do the same since my company has transferred me and my parents dont really know what to do.
My advice, if you already have DataOne, and if it is working, pray that it continues to do so. While those considering DataOne, i think its better to take a look at the competition. While i had airtel i didnt face any technical problems. And they have matched the features of BSNL similarly.
