    Default WA3002-G4 and VOIP

    Hi Folks,

I am at a position where I need to decide between a Hathway connection and BSNL's Dataone Broadband connection. With Hathway connection I could configure my VOIP adapter which is a SIPURA SPA2100 and it works like a charm. I have set it as a DHCP for WAN connection and it accepts the IP address given by the Hathway modem and as I said it works great. But recently a week back I got a BSNL broadband connection and the BSNL guy set it up so that we can access internet and tested it... and now with BSNL we are able to connect to web wired and wireless both. He has setup a WA3002-G4 router DHCP enabled and it gives dynamic IP addresses to all the connecting partners... even to my VOIP adapter. But my VOIP adapter is not able to get connected to the internet and sync with its servers so that it can produce a dial tone (. After going through this forum, I checked whether my BSNL router is set for PPPoE and it is set for PPPoE and if I am right that is how a DSL modem is supposed to connect with our account username and password. I am not sure what extra configuration I need to do in my BSNL router or my VOIP router. Once again VOIP adapter is able to receive an IP address with subnet mask and gateway... but of no help. Can anybody help me if they have also gone through this headache. I would really appreciate the much needed help.

    Thanks guys...

I am not familiar with these VOIP devices but perhaps some ports need to be open?

most likely you have to setup port forwarding like configuration for your VOIP & it may also be possible that for this to work VOIP must get same IP every time.
