once again y r we even bothering to have a discussion or debate over these OS.
I mean let the volume of people speak which is using the most...
like take for example... US.

aren't we posting out here right now using Windows OS and not Linux apart from maybe 1 or 2 people? so i mean its undeniable that Windows Rules!!

More than 80%of people are using pirated copy of windows.
Microsoft is more strict on Vista piracy issues . I think we can't use Vista's pirated copy with broadband. They very easily detect and even warning individual.

If the software piracy rule go more strict then the popularity of Windows will go down and people will think about open source OS like Linux.

i think most of the virus affects windows because it is the most popular os , coders of virus wants to inflict maximum damage, so they choose the most poular os, if linux based where os were most popular then they create viruses for linux too.

That is absolutely correct. But Linux/Unix is not so easy to infiltrate.

yup thats true. Thats what everybody shud understand. Everything which can be built up, can also be pulled down.

A hacker is a hacker. He aint gonna be bothered attacking the non famous os. And when it does bcome famous people will again shift to another os.

So there4 these viruses are unavoidable.

Linux architecture is designed in such an ingenious way that even if Linux does become the most popular OS, hackers would have a very difficult job designing trojans/viruses for Linux.

Cool Name ur os

You know ever since linux has picked up in fame here on this THREAD, the exact question hasnt been quite answered!

Now tell me which OS are u using right now whenever u r posting in this thread.

After every post out here in this THREAD... Leave a line that says...

"i am using windows os" or "i am using linux os"

that way we would be able to judge the difference between somebody who actually likes using linux and somebody who likes talking about linux!!

Im only familiar with Ubuntu. So if u plan to configure ur Net connection on Ubuntu, all u need to do is type "sudo pppoeconf" in the terminal and the rest is interactive.
The advantage of using Ubuntu is that u get alot of support on the net. Almost any problem u encounter is discussed on the ubuntu forums.
