Default Home Lan using Siemens SL2_141

Hi guys .
I just got a BSNL 750 Ul plan.
I have a desktop and a laptop at home.
Is there a way that i can direct connect my laptop (has only wireless adapter) and my desktop (has only ethernet adapter) and share the bsnl connection?
basically i dont even want net to work ... my problem is with networking only ..
Can i use my modem to connect my laptop and desktop ? (modem is type 4 and has both wireless and well as ethernat ports)
if yes then how ?
thank you

configure modem in pppoe mode for sharing net connection simultaneously---
SL2_141 ADSL MODEM (Type-B) MENU

use windows network setup wizard for setting up local LAN.

give details about how network setup wizard didn't identified the network.also give details like if you setup your modem in pppoe mode(in which you get connected by just turning on the modem),if VISTA is installed on any system etc.

also ensure that your laptop and your desktop is getting an ip address.. go to the command prompt of windows( of both pcs) and type ipconfig and see if you are getting an ip of the form 192.168.1.x

i have modem in pppoe mode but it doesnt connect automatically as i get
0/35 pppoe_0_35_1 PPPoE Enabled Authentication Failure
in the WAN settings in modem.
I have XP on both comp and laptop.

My problem is this ... if i host the network on Laptop i have to select "set wireless network " option as there is no ethernet card. in that case i am not sure how to view that network from the computer. same if i host a "home lan" option in computer.

Bytheway both computer and laptop have different internal ips.

make sure that in LAN properties--->general tab "client for microsoft networks" & "file & printer sharing for microsoft networks"is checked in both PC & laptop.as soon as you on your modem LAN icon should show connected in both PC & laptop.make sure that both PC & laptop are on same IP range e.g. 192.168.1.4 & 192.168.1.5 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.to confirm this type ipconfig /all in command prompt(type cmd in run box)when LAN is connected in both PC & laptop.

yes i checked all that and things are fine now( i disabled firewall on both computers and that did the trick) . except that i am not able to share internet connection. Somehow i always get
PPPoE Enabled Authentication Failure
and hence internet doesn't dial automatically when i turn modem on.
i have to dial it.
please tell me what username and password i have to give for ppp .
I just have my bsnl userid . i dont have any dataone id . My home plan is UL 750.
Should i call them up and ask for my id or i need to register somewhere for it ?
thankyou
