i think making the cobnnection PPPoE would make it in "always on" mode... modem connects automatically to internet when it is started...

    HI Ridhima

for a PPPoE connection you need to make a DUN connection which is really very simple
you just need to go to Control Panel
from control panel go to network connections
in network connections look for create a new connection on left hand side pane
it will display Create a New Connection Wizard
    simply click on next
then look for option Connect to internet select that and click on next button on right hand side bottom corner of window
on next page select second option which says Setup my connection manually.. thn press next
on next page again select second option which says Connect using a broadband connection which requires username and password, click on next again
on next page it will ask you for your ISP name... you can type anything there (even your name )
thn wizard will ask you for your username and password for connection..

after this click on next and then finish...

    its done... simple know

    cheers

the method you mentioned is for bridged mode where a dialer is used to connect to the internet.. but @ridhima.25 wants to configure in ppoe mode.. so settings have to be done in the modem..

well ridhima wants to onnect to internet whenever the modem starts... for that we got to go to 192.168.1.1 and chage the access mode to PPPoE mode and not Bridged mode... and u got to give the passord and username in that configuration page...

Superprash is true the method u explained is bridge mode. In PPPoE mode no dialer is required. User id and password to be fed at modem itself while configuring
