    Default Billing

I have subscribled for HOME 500 and BSNL staff gave me connection on August 8,2005. I got the bill on 14th September. I was shocked to see that they have billed me Rs.6447 plus the rental of Rs.500. How could this happen? And added to my B-Fone bill they have billed me for a total for Rs.11784.

I could not have used up 1GB in Just 23 days!! So watch out users!!. I have still to clarify with BSNL what this is all about. I have never paid so much telephone even while using the dial up connection.
I would request users to check the usage pattern and clarify with BSNL before going for this service. I took the service to reduce my telephone while I was dial up. My average billing including internet usage was Rs.1500 per month. How can one afford living earning towards internet which is our bread and butter money.

    So folks be careful!!

The best thing to do is just go for any unlimited data transfer plan and stay away from billing issues.

Due to port-binding one can use the account only through only one particular telephone connection subscribed. Is there any way to tide over this problem so that u can use your account on any BSNL ADSL telephone line ... I feel BSNL should allow this, as the account is user name and password protected, so that wherever u r, u r able to use your own broadband account ..... and dont have to rely on others

there were many instances of account misuse before port binding.infact it is very easy to steal account information as most of the users use default username & password for modems.it will take only 2-3 minutes to know this information if the modem is set in pppoe mode with default username/password.

The initial bill must also be including the installation charges, modem cost, security deposit, bill from Aug 8 to Sep, 14 and bill for Sep, 15 to Oct 14. Even then the amount should not be so high. Please get all the details from BSNL.

You can check whether someone has hacked into your account this way:

    a) Logon on one day and check the usage statistics
    b) Remain switched off for at least a day and on the third day login again
    c) Check usage - the stats should not have altered just a little.

Also as Admin suggested, you should change the plan to UL 900 as soon as possible.

My advise to every one and this is never ever use limited internt connection at all. Always use unlimited plans which is the best.
