Hi , I have been using BSNL DATA ONE for about 5 months now. It is no doubt a better solution than all the dialup services or a local cable internet, but BSNL should realize that by limiting the downloads to just 1GB for a home plan and also charging huge bills for extra downloads is not going to help it nor the users in the long run. I mean 1GB... come on that is about 1week of serious browsing with very little download activity. Don’t they realize that the cheaper they offer these services to the public the more users they will get. Just take a look at the broadband usage and prices and the speeds in other countries . Bandwidth speeds start from 1mbps - 5mbps - 10mbps - 100mbps. What is the use of selling a 100mbps capable modem and then giving a 256kbps download stream. Our government should think about offering a cheaper solution to the users at a much higher bandwidth. My usage has reduced to just one or two hours of browsing daily for the simple reason that if I exceed the usage I am going to be slapped on with a hefty bill . This has happened last month when I downloaded 2.3gb in one month and then realised that I downloaded more than I was supposed to but when I received the bill BSNL did not charge me for the extra mb’s . The next month I downloaded 8gb thinking that BSNL is still giving the unlimited downloads . I thought that they had extended the unlimited period another couple of months but to my dismay I received a bill of 3300 at the end of the month saying that the bill could not be sent because of technical difficulties . Now because of this blunder by BSNL I will have to shell out another 8500 next month also. So all I am saying is that BSNL should take some steps to change its strategy so that users will not feel cheated and regret ever going for DATA ONE Broadband.
