    Default Disconnection

    Hi I got my new internet connection one week back, initially my DSL link was not stable at all and it used to get disconnected frequently. I followed it up with exchange and they verified and said the line is proper and It has to do with the internal wiring in my apartment. I bribed the lineman and got a direct line to my apartment. Now my line is much stable but still I am facing situation where in the DSL link goes down.

    1) Now it automatically again establishes connection but then the internet light on the modem will not blink and although link is there I am unable to browse.
    2) I need to reboot the modem sometimes more than once to starting using the net again.

    My modem is WA3002-G4 and I am using the internet via Wi-fi.

    Last I heard from the line man that may be there is some problem in cable pair in their junction box and he will try to change that.

    Any inputs from the forum users is really appreaciated.

    ensure that the direct telephone cable goes directly to your splitter first.. then connect all telephones after the splitter

    The direct line goes into a small box which they provide and from there it goes into the splitter. That is how the line man did it for me.

    enter your modem settings by typing 192.168.1.1 in your internet browser(IE,firefox etc).use username/password as admin/admin & go to overview/status tab & there look for SNR values.if these values are less than 10 you will face frequent disconnections.
