    Default intermittent conection

Of late, I have noticed a problem with my connection. The site open after two or three attempts and there are frequent disconnections. The rate of traffic at the status bar is also very low compared to previously. I have Bsnl 500 home. Modem No. ut300r2u. I am having this connection for the last six months. I didn't have any problem previously. Can anyone tell me what is the problem? Would the BSNL solve this problem if I complain to them?

dont complain to BSNL it will be simply a waste of time!!

try switching to open DNS servers if you are on BSNL DNS servers type these DNS

    primary DNS: 208.67.220.220
    Sec. DNS: 208.67.222.222

also make sure no phones are connected before the splitter and make sure the dial tone in your telephone is clear

Type http://192.168.1.1 in your browser to go to UT300R2U's web configuration page.

Login as admin/admin. Go to the 'Status' tab and under status tab, there is a button called 'ADSL' in the LHS panel. Click on this panel and check "SNR" and "Line Attenuation".

If SNR is below 10 db and Line Attenuation is above 30 db then you have problem in you incoming line.
