Hi,
I am using BSNL Home 500 C... In this i have night unlimited.
but BSNL is adding the data downloaded in this time also in my usage detail..

Should i keep on downloading or wait for atleast one bill..
kindly suggest

when you see your usage details click on"my orders" tab & confirm that the plan shown is home 500C.for now bsnl portal don't show night free usage separately from day time/billable usage.

Alright it seems u start download 1 hr later instead try this.
Download from 2:30 am to 7:30 am.
If u set the scheduler in torrent then here is the idea for that.
Set the system clock 30 min faster and schedule the torrent to down load from 3am to 8 am.
As the clock is faster by 30mins. the download starts at 2:30 and end at 7:30.

1. schedule your http downloads(norrnal downloads) witha good download manager like "Internet download manager" to start and stop downloads at specific times,say from 2:10-7:50.

2. Use utorrent (has inbuilt scheduler) to download torrents,

3. Schedule in windows scheduler for,utorrent to start at, suppose2:10

4. Use some auto-shutdown software like "power shutdown" to restart your pc at 2:00(so that modem automatically gets disconnected at 2:00).

power shutdown can do the following

a. disconnect you modem at specific time
b. reboot your pc at specific time
c. shutdown your pc at specific time and many more

5. automate your windows logon so that you should be able to start downloading only by turning on your pc.(use "tweaks ui" its a tool).

6. sync your pc time with a good time server,or manually with internet time,watch your download details in bbservice.bsnl.in to check if your downloads are at the same time as shown there(indirectly checking that BSNL server is in sync with your PC or not)

7. use your BIOS RTC alarm(if available in your BIOS),to start your PC from total shutdown state,sothat you won't have to wake up to 2:00 to start your PC.

8. Schedule power shuttdown to diconnect your modem at 7:50,your can shedule more than one modem disconnection schedules to stay disconnected as your modem tries to connect automatically,better schedule to shutdown your PC at around 7:50.

9.keep your default BSNL connection at start up sothat it connects automatically when you login.(uncheck the box in your BSNL connection properties which says prompt for password,then it'd automatically connect without confirmation,there is auto redial in Internet download manager.

so now you have

pc autostart + auto log in + automatic connection to internet + automatic scheduled downloads + autoshutdown = completely automated downloads at night.

only thing you,everything else is automatic.
have to do is queue your downloads in the day and keep your pc power cord plugged in at night

Last month I got my HOME 1800 BSNL bill : Rs 22 030

Yes, 22 000.

Something wrong i would say, especially the fact that for 3 weeks I was out of the country. I wrote a letter to them and met them in person here in Jaipur. It turns out we were 3 client in line having the same issue of outstanding bills (12 000 and more). They tell me they have to ask for data from Bangalore and that it will take about 15 days to check all the info, my fear is that they will come up with the same number again and im running out of option, any suggestions?

get a proof of that by using your tickets/accomadation receipts etc.even more helpful would be if you can have some proof that your home/residence was locked by having statements of your neighbours.ask if the port binding is in place(meaning your account can be used only on your telephone line & not any other place/line) at your local exchange.if it is not claim that your data transfer should be checked against your telephone line(not account) which can be done at local exchange.

Dear All,,I have a bsnl related technical problem.. It is very unstable. every few minutes the download stops. The bsnl connection dialogue bos shows it is connected. But no download is possible. If I disconnect and use "repair" on my LAN connection and again connect the bsnl net connection it starts working. Can anybody help me resolve this?

Just go to the properties of the connection you are using for BSNL in my network connections(assuming you have xp) in cotrol panel ,

1.set the box with prompt for userid and password unchecked
2.set redial attempts to =999 (or as you like)
3.set time between redial attemps =1sec (or as you like)

so when there if the connection is dropped ,it reconnects without asking.
