Default Incorrect DataOne Billing

I am having DataOne connection (Rs.500/month plan) for the last two years. I only use it for browsing /online share trading/ financial transactions and never use it to download songs/movies. My total monthly download never crosses 500MB, hence, I always receive minimum billing. But last month I received bill of Rs.3500, showing total download of 6GB ( that too in the period when I was out of station for 16days), no one used internet in my absence.

I lodged complaint, till now i haven't received any favourable response.

Is there any method to prove that there was no download on my computer and incorrect billing. It's like BSNL can force any charge on customers and since its government firm, there is no heed to the complaints. There should be laws to protect consumers rights. Appreciate any guidance in this matter.

Yes. There is a redressal. First you can ask for usage details. Then you need to prove that you were out of station for the said 16 days. Then you can also show your prior usage history stating that you never exceeded limits and hence you have a reason to suspect foul play.

You will have to take the case to DM, if required. If BSNL refuses to show usage details then you can file a case in consumer court.

However, if your connection is port binded, it is logically not possible for anyone to use your bandwidth unless the phone line is tapped.

i am from kanpur i got the portal id & password from bsnl office.
then go to the site bbservice.bsnl.in there u can get the details of daily uploding & downloading

Thnx just4kix ... will try what u said ..
have already lodged complaint thru bsnl 1500 no.. now will give a hard copy of complaint letter ...
the thing is there should be something to prove the usage ... u can check online usage in dataone site, but that's not enough... what if one gets again discrepancy in billing

I too subscribed to the bsnl Broadband 500C+.My problem is I hav been consistently charged for the usage that falls in the 2-8AM period...

The BSNL ppl say they cant do anything abt it...

Y shld I pay extra while I am in a free plan...Its all too frustrating.

The bluntly say pay the bill.Today I see that BSNL has removed all Night browsing details...The entire format is changed...I dont know from wer to show back up

I feel its all wrong.Plz tell me whom to complain this to.From wer should I get my usage details???the present sites are all shut/in upgradation mode

i am also facing the same issue that to in past few bills.
i suspect 2-8 am unlimited usage has been removed without any prior notification.
i have droped a letter to G.Selvam (Broadband nodal officer)
awaiting for the responce.

sir is any problem using seheduling for download in bsnl (billing problems)
