there are two ways to reset a modem either manually or through by the modems config. page , in modem's config. page click on the button which says restore to factory default settings or something similar.

When you are doing it manually just locate the reset switch in your modem and while modem is on just press and hold the reste switch until all the lights are off and you are done

NOTE: when you will reset your modem you will lost all the settings and you will not be able to connect to the internet

which plan are you in if you are in H500 then you are getting very poor speed and if you are in H750 plan then you are getting pretty good speeds

NOTE: from the above which you have mentioned is the speed in Kbps (Kilo bits per second)
and when you download something from internet it is measured in KB/s(Kilo Bytes per second)

as you have said you are getting 215Kbps then your download speed will be 215/8 KB/s
...... now you must be wondering that why i divided 215 Kbps by 8 because i have converted the unit from Kbps to KB/s as 1Byte=8bits

    i hope i am clear

hi player sorry its 215kbps the download speed and the net speed being around 1.7 MB,

the issue is is think i screwed up the dmz host setting as i didnt follow the tutorials correctly, i restored it to default, but usually ii switch on the modem and the net gets connected but now a bsnl status windows pops us and it requires username and password, when i enter them i am able to log in

    also what is this

    Test authentication with ISP: FAIL
Test the assigned IP address: FAIL

click on "ADSL modem configuration" & a new page will open.follow the instructions & as for resetting read the last line---"press RESET at back by a ball pen refill for 10 sec on ON condition".

make sure that power supply is uninterrupted during this process.connect modem to UPS.

Your router's web interface may be different.

CD is for USB drivers and the PDF manuals etc. CD will not help you with configuration. The PDF manual will.

    You have two options:

    a) Do it yourself. You may struggle a lot but in the end you will become an expert and you may never face problems again (for configurations)
    b) You can ask someone else (incl BSNL) to do this for you. When the problem comes again, you will face the same problems again.

As whitestar_999 said, download the zip file.

Unzip the same to some folder. After unzipping, the folder that you chose will contain a file "PPPoE Setup of UT300R2U – Manual Method.htm" and another folder will be created as "PPPoE Setup of UT300R2U – Manual Method_files"

Double click on "PPPoE Setup of UT300R2U – Manual Method.htm".
