hey ricksoft,
well this is the procedure--
1. i have done port forwarding for my u torrent... so iam basically following a static ip address.
2. My modem was connected to my laptop via wi-fi
3. however to connect to the net i have to double click the Bsnl (PPPOE) icon...
4. i installed DFBA and updatred the setting
5. i ran it but nothing happened. ie. it did not connect on itslef at 8:18 pm.

  • BSNL offers free downloading during 2 AM to 8 AM.
  • Most heavy downloaders would like to use this time for their heavy downloads such as movies, software, etc. from torrents.
  • But to use the free usage time, we must restart/re-establish connection after 2 AM and before 8 AM
  • Obviously staying awake till 2 AM or waking up at that time everyday is not an option
  • There are many methods that can automate this rebooting of the modem so that you are spared of this task

The automation mentioned in this post (and many other posts like this) talk about modem restarting only - not the actual downloading. Packages such as uTorrent have an inbuilt scheduler. Using the automation and uTorrent, all large downloads can be pushed to the 2 AM to 8 AM window.
