    Default Problems with Rapidshare.com access

    Hello Everyone!

I am having problems accessing Rapidshare.com. When ever I type" www.rapidshare.com" in the address bar and hit "Go". I get a blank screen.

I am getting the same results with IE, Firefox and Opera.
All the other sites like Google, Yahoo! etc are openning as usual. The internet access is at normal speed. Everything is okay except access to RS.com

My ISP is BSNL. My cousin's ISP is Tata ( VSNL) he is also having the same problems.

Although my friend with Sify has no problems.

    So guys any suggestion ??

yup sorted the prob... there seems to be an issue with the html encoding... the web page needs /index.html to open... just by entering wxx.rapidshare.com it wont open. u need to type wxx.rapidshare.com/index.html

    PS: xx stands for ww

to switch to open DNS servers go to control panel<<<Network connections<<<right click on your network i.e. whether it is LAN or Wi-Fi and select properties<<<then browse to TCP/IP and select properties<<< select use the "use the following IP address" and enter the values below

    IP address: 192.168.1.(any number b/w 2 & 254)
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Primary DNS: 208.67.220.220
    Sec. DNS: 208.67.222.222

these are the address of the open DNS serevers DNS servers are the servers whic are used to translate our simple language into a computer language which are a set of numbers so that computer can uderstand for eg: when you type indiabroadband.net then your DNS converts or translate this into meaningfull numbers so that computer can understand and further process your request so if these servers are busy so ultimately you will experience very poor browsing speeds

Rapidshare has limited download speeds for free users to 60KBps but got rid of the captcha or the waiting period for static ip users. which means u dont have to reboot ur modem or login and logout to refresh ur dynamic ip as well.

as soon as ur first download is over, click on ur next link and click on free. then u get ur waiting ticket and then u download without captcha. so even if u hav a static ip... u dont have to worry but only thing is since its free they have reduced the speed to 60KBs.

so it perfectly fine. nothing to do with ur connection.
