Red face Not able to access 192.168.1.1

With this 500C+ plan using WA3002G4 modem given by BSNL, I'm able to access internet after setting up the session by dialing up the connection. However, I fail to open up the page of 192.168.1.1.
Please can anybody help me with this?

    Thanks,
    Mahidhar

On XP, Click on Start --> Run --> Cmd

In the command window, run the command:

    ipconfig/all

    Post the results here.

My guess is that DHCP is off in your modem/router and TCP/IP settings' "Default Gateway" is not set. It must be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should assign your IP mannualy as 192.168.1.X. the subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and your default gate way should be 192.168.1.1. then you can access 192.168.1.1 page

    Here is my ipconfig

    Windows IP Configuration

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

    PPP adapter Broadband:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 117.198.96.191
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 117.198.96.191

Also, pinging the IP 192.168.1.1 doesn't work.....

    Default helllo

am having the same problem too... a few months before i set my BSNL modem to work on "bridging" mode as per the instructions in this link:

http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...er-wrt54g.html (Setup of ADSL Modem/Router UT-300R2U with Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G)

after that, everything was fine... i could use wireless internet. after this setup, i could initially open the BSNL modem page @192.168.1.1. but now i cannot. my router page is 192.168.2.1 which i can open. has this problem come because i changed the BSNL modem from PPPOE mode to bridging mode??

because according to my knowledge as well, it is correct as per what ur network config has shown in cmd.

im not too sure about that..because his ipconfig output says ip address = "192.168.0.1" and gateway is blank.. that means his pc has the ip 192.168.0.1 .. that normally arises if you try to enabled ICS in windows.. or you might have inserted that manually by mistake..What you could do is go to control panel->network connection.right click on local area connection, click on properties then go to tcp/ipv4 properties.. there enter ip address as 192.168.1.10 and gateway as 192.168.1.1 .. should work now..

in your LAN TCP/IP settings(not BSNL network setting) enter IP address as 192.168.121.4 & subnet mask as 255.255.255.0 as both the values(169.254.x.x & 255.255.0.0) you currently have are wrong.
