Default cannot open some pages while in bridge mode

hello, i have a ut200r2u modem and a linksys wireless router. i have setup wireless internet mode between the two using bridge mode (done according to this (Setup of ADSL Modem/Router UT-300R2U with Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G) link) in the BSNL modem. now everything was working fine for a few days. then i noticed that i could not open the BSNL modem page (192.168.1.1) but i could open the router page (192.168.2.1). this happens in both the laptop and the desktop.

also, i cannot open some pages in the desktop. like mail.yahoo.com etc... they open but only after repeated attempts. i keep getting a "page not found"error otherwise. this happens only in the desktop, not the laptop.

so these are the two problems am experiencing.. i tried to change MTU from 1500 to 1492 and 1454 but that does not work.. what else can i do?

You can Use Open DNS. I think that will serve your purpose

Default hello

hello, i tried open DNS and have specified the required fields in my linksys router page. but the problem persists. i was hoping that the MTU thing will work, but it did not. i used TCP optimizer from speedguide(is that correct?). i changed the MTU setting displayed in the main page of that application. do let me know if there is anything i may have gone wrong with.

also, is there any other method to go wireless with the router apart from the bridge mode(link in my first post) ?? maybe that will not cause problems...

should i post any more info like the ipconfig settings from DOS? am concerned abt privacy so if needed then i would like to know if posting such details on a public forum compromises security...

is your BSNL modem Wi-Fi or not??

I think you have messed with the MTU thinga .......... which value have you set mostly it should be around 1492 but i am not 100% sure for this value if this value is entered wrongly then you will end up in nowhere and you will not be able to open websites!

Do you have a firewall installed ? I had a very similar problem, later figured out that my firewall was blocking some traffic causing page not found errors.

Friend you can download the LIVE ONE CARE from microsoft. I think it will solve your problem. This is happening due to a trojan attack and which is detectable only by Live one care. I think you will also could not open the orkut page.
