(just like Albert Einstein who succeeded with his dreams and ended up winning a nobel prize!) and people like you will never succeed when you already gave up without giving it a try!! and discouraging people instead of helping and try to giving as much information as you can is simply not FAIR!!

Rep Power: 13 | There are a number of ways you can resell bandwidth and the cheapest last mile solution right now is Wimax which will work out a lot cheaper then cable or adsl solutions. You can buy bandwidth from VSNL, Reliance, Bsnl, Mtnl or Airtel but they will charge you for laying the cables from end to end and from your point you can then resell it using wimax technology or even cable if you think its feasable and you have some kind if infra in place already. I am not too sure what you are trying to do so I will leave the liscencing info for now and wait till you provide some more info on what exactly are you trying to achieve. Thanks

Rep Power: 2 | Category A: This covers the territorial jurisdiction of the Union of India except specified areas that may be notified to be excluded from time to time. Category B: West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, North East, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh-West, Uttar Pradesh-East, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai. what exactly would be covered by category A? the place is in category B but im just wondering. B seems to be much cheaper to get the license haha. thankyou very much for that information. gave me a much better idea this isnt only me doing this... i am just doing some research for my father who will then hire people and so on... this isnt just an isp company. its part of a project to build an entire city, and that city will need internet.. |

You can also get a one time payment for each connection. In case you want your own brand inside your township or city whatever you prefer to call it then just get intouch with one of the isp's with the requirements and they will give you an estimate based on the number of lines. If you have a significant number of perspective customers then airtel might actually rent out space from you to set up a local exchange as well.. So there are a number of possibilities. | |

Rep Power: 2 | the reason i am asking on a forum is that im not actually planning the whole thing here. i am merely writing up a small report on the different ways of doing things... so far i am getting all the help i need. its not like im going to now go and buy a license. when the time comes, professionals will be hired to setup and oversee the whole thing. for now im just finding out the different ways of going about it. |

Rep Power: 2 | ok so i have been looking at a satellite connection for now until a fibre optic solution can be planned. BSNL Vsat seems kinda expensive but that doesnt matter. 155mbps is available which should be enough for now. what i would like to know is how this setup works and what needs to be installed? also next to each price is a "distance in kilometres" bit. the price inscreases as that goes up. what is the distance in kilometres measuring? how can i calculate what distance i would be looking at and therefore how much id be paying? can someone please explain this to me? thankyou |

| Platinum Member | BSNL VSAT won't give you 155mbps or for that matter even 10mbps.max speed is 2mbps. Satellite internet and broadband two-way satellite service providers in Asia: Afghanistan to India, China, Australia and Pacific what you are talking about is dedicated optical fibre leased line whose cost depends upon the length of such cable which in turn depends upon how far are you from nearest BSNL access point for such cables. |
