| Platinum Member | CPU is not the problem but hard disc is.24/7 operation for downloading puts maximum stress on hard disc than any other PC component.download HDTune & regulary check your hard disc health. |

Most hard drives come with a 5 to 7 year manufacturer warranty and other then that there are no moving parts in a computer except for fans so there is hardly anything that would go wrong. | |

| Platinum Member | You can keep the computer on for long times (more than 3~4 days). But it would be wise to set hibernate/sleep/stand-by options to allow: - power comsumption savings - less load on your CPU, hard disk, fans, etc. - less heating of the room and surrounding area In the hibernate/sleep/stand-by options, you can set options like: - Turn off monitor after nn minutes - Turn off CPU after nn minutes - Turn off hard-disks after nn minutes etc. However, if you are downloading something, the computer is doing something, even though you are not. But even here, you should set this option anyway, so that computer goes into sleep mode after the activity completes.
