in your modem settings in overview/status tab look for SNR values & Line Attn values.SNR values must not be less than 10 & Line Attn values must not be above 30-35.

There is a problem with your phone line. your SNR value is less than 10 that is 6.4 and Attanuation is high that is 37. Ask BSNL to check your line.

The Drop outs that u r getting is most likely due to low Sound to Noise Margins. At the moment u have 6.2db which is fine for ADSL2+ but not your's..The low SNR could be due to internal or external factors..the best way is to Isolate ur line and attach ur modem straight to the wall socket and then check for SNR and if it improves then it's internal problem but if doesn't then Call ur ISP and tell them to check ur line and also change ur VPI setting to 8 rather than 0..I guess it's a standard setting for ADSL across the world.

in India VPI setting is 0 for BSNL network.8 value is mostly used in developed countries like england, australia etc.
